Collecting Unemployment When Youre Self-Employed
Collecting Unemployment When Youre Self-EmployedCollecting Unemployment When Youre Self-EmployedCan you collect unemployment if you are working as a freelancer, independent contractor, or self-employed individual running your own business? Its worth looking into, as you may be eligible depending on your circumstances. Unemployment Benefits for Self-Employed Workers In most cases, self-employed workers, independent contractors, and freelance workers who lose their income are not eligible for unemployment benefits. Because employers contribute to a fund for unemployment benefits, their employees are eligible to receive benefits from the government, if they qualify after losing their job. If you are operating as self-employed, you most likely didnt pay into your states unemployment fund. If you were paid as an independent contractor and receive a 1099 form, you were not considered an employee and would not be eligible for unemployment. Thats because eligibility for unemployment is b ased upon being employed by an organization that was paying into the unemployment insurance fund. When Self-Employed People Can Collect There are some circumstances where self-employed workers may be able to collect benefits, however. If your business is incorporated and pays into unemployment, you may be eligible to collect unemployment benefits. If you were unemployed as a result of a major disaster, you may be eligible to receive Disaster Unemployment Assistance. The federally funded DUA is designed to provide assistance to workers who become unemployed as the result of a Presidentially declared major disaster, and who are ineligible for other unemployment benefits. State unemployment law may provide for eligibility for benefits in some other special circumstances, and your unemployment department can help you navigate the process should you become unemployed. Check Your Eligibility Eligibility varies from state to state, so if youre not sure whether youre eligible, check with your state unemployment office to find information about who can collect unemployment compensation, and how to go about filing a claim. When you become unemployed, its a good idea to check if you may be eligible for benefits right away. It can take time to begin receiving benefits if you do qualify, so you should file your claim as soon as possible. Self-Employment Assistance Program The Self-Employment Assistance Program is a federal government endorsed program which offers unemployed or displaced workers in some states unemployment benefits when they are starting a business. The Self-Employment Assistance program pays a displaced worker an allowance, instead of regular unemployment insurance benefits, to help keep them afloat while they are establishing a business and becoming self-employed. When Youre Already Collecting Unemployment If you are collecting unemployment based on a job you had, working freelance can impact the benefits you are receiving. For example, in New York state, you need to report income when you do freelance work, do favors for another business, start a business, or are or become self-employed while you are collecting unemployment benefits. If you are doing other work you may become disqualified from receiving unemployment benefits. There are similar requirements in other states. In addition, in order to claim benefits, you need to be ready, willing and available for work. Some states require that you keep and regularly turn in an employment log documenting your efforts to regain employment. If you are receiving unemployment benefits, make sure that you know the guidelines regarding any work you engage in. Violating the requirements can result in a loss of benefits and also substantial fines if you are discovered.

Hot Job Hunting Takes for a Cool Job Market
Hot Job Hunting Takes for a Cool Job MarketHot Job Hunting Takes for a Cool Job MarketIf you are a job seeker, you understand the job market is hostile. You have the talents and resurces to bring value to your next employer. In fact, you were one of the top managers for your last employer that specialized in maintenance for industrial central heating units. The only problem is that you are a job seeker in Phoenix, Arizonaand its July. When surveyed, a group of entrepreneurs listed timing as the most important element for a successful business. In many ways, every job seeker is a mini-startup. This might seem daunting for our central heating engineer in the middle of the Sonoran desert and, unless Maricopa County is due for an ice age, this candidate will be lost at sea. Here is a simple fact about job seekingLocations and hiring trends will change. Any attempt to stop that change is foolish. Still, there are a few things the average job seeker can do to suit their proverbial sail to th e direction of the wind. This is not a case of fluffing up resumes to get workThis is neither about fluffing a resume nor is it about touting skills you dont actually have. This is how someone who blows hot air can highlight his or her strengths to get a foothold in a hostile job climate. 1. Take a good look at your resumeThis is a reality check for most job seekers regardless of the stage of their careers. For some, that resume is nothing more than a list of employers. Instead, a resume should be an explanation of how your resources will contribute to the plans and goals of a potential employer. At a glance, the resume reader should get a clear idea of not only who you are, but also what you actions you will be able to take on for an organization. So we turn to the resumeYou do update your resume on an annual basis, right? Grab a blank paper and create three columns of tasksPerformed for previous employersWhat you want to perform for future employersWhat you have no desire to take on for my next employerThe results may surprise you. 2. Always review the job descriptionDo you know whats interesting about job descriptions? In spite of popular sentiment, they are designed to find the right candidate for a job based on a series of required skills and keywords. The main takeaway here is that the answers will be right in front of you. You just have to look for them.In many cases, a job description will have certain phrases or qualifications that repeat several times. This is a clue that a particular skill has great value. The bottom line is that a pattern can lead you to a better understanding of what an employer may be looking for in their next hire for that role. Also, the job description will list qualities or traits that will be necessary to succeed in that role. For example, one organization may be looking for a collaborative leader for a small kollektiv. Another may seek, KPI driven supervisor who will emphasize monthly goals and quotas. In both cases, you will have a better idea of skills and abilities the former employer will value over the later.3. Play the match gameNow its time to slide that job description over your resume and see if we have a match. Highlight the same words that appear both on your resume and in the job description. For this reason, it may be a good idea to run your resume past several job descriptions for the same role. If you were applying as a Project Manager, for Company A, you would be wise to compare that description to similar roles at Organizations B and C. If there is a match, you may have already found your way towards a job that will fit not only your experience but also the skills you have. In some cases, you may need to revise your resume to bring behauptung skills to the forefront. For example, if you found that you spend several years in a Business Development role, you may have found that included skills such as Market Research, Networking, or even Lead Generation. These same skills may need to be rei terated on your resume, or even placed closer to the top of the page as opposed to the bottom. 4. Create a customized cover letterIn my opinion, the cover letter is more beneficial for the applicant than the employer. Although some hiring managers will require a cover letter, the true value of such a letter is it gives you, the applicant, a chance to make your case for the role in question. When you construct your cover letter, offer an explanation of the followingHow you honed your current skills. How those skills lead to success with your previous employers. How you plan to utilize those skills for the organization you will be applying for.The beauty of the cover letter is that it doesnt need to be a novel. All you will need are a few short paragraphs that will reinforce why the skills on your resume will make you a viable candidate for the position. At the end of the dayYou will be presenting your future employer with a list of skills and abilities that you will mold to the position. In the sweltering heat of July, a central heating team leader may not have a snowballs chance. However, a team-oriented results-driven manager with experience heading small to medium sized teams may get one step closer to an interview

Boeing Pilot Training Ab Initio Program
Boeing Pilot Training Ab Initio ProgramBoeing Pilot Training Ab Initio ProgramBoeing says its beginningan ab initio flight training program called the BoeingPilot Development Program that will take pilots from zero pilot hurs to being type-ratedin a Boeing jet, and presumably ready for an airline career. The companyannouncedthe new program at a 2014EAA AirVenture Oshkoshevent, just after the release of the Boeing2014 Pilot and Technician Outlook. Pilot Demand ThePilot and Technician Outlook predicts a demand for 533,000 new pilots throughout the world over the next 20 years. Thats an estimated 27,000 new pilots needed per year. Most of this demand- 216,000 pilots- will be in Asia, with Europe and North America following behind. With the high number of new jet deliveries coupled with pilot attrition and the FAAs increase in the number of hours required for an airline transport pilot certificate, Boeing thinks well need a new way to train pilots. Were forecasting nearly 36,800 new a irplanes worth $5.2 trillion- a pretty amazing market, said Shary Carbary, Boeings Vice President of Flight Services, at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Theres a lot of debate on if theres a pilot shortage. Boeing is forecasting the demand, and what were suggesting is that in order to ensure this is elend an issue going forward, we need to come together as an industry, as governments and regulators around the world, and as academia, to help ensure that this does not become a critical issue and that we can address this problem. Flight Program The ab initio flight program will help soften the blow of any loomingpilot shortage, according to Boeing, with the help ofairline partnerships. In atypical ab initio program, the airlinesponsors a student pilotfrom the beginning of training, mentors them throughout their pilot training, and hires the pilot once he or she is type-rated and certified. The program has worked well in other countries, but with the FAAs regulations, people a re skeptical that it will workthe same in the U.S. The Boeing Pilot Development Program will be implemented byJeppesen, a subsidiary of Boeing, and will be customized to fit an airlines needs and its countries regulations. The program will ensure students get basic courses like math and physics, along with piloting skills specific to the commercial airline that might sponsor them, as well as classes on crew resource management and airline operating procedures. The student will be trained at Boeing training centers in one of the numerous locations throughout the world. Prerequisites The prerequisites for student pilots entering the ab initio program include a screening process reading, writing, and speaking English a first class medical and a visa. Students will be carefully selected to prevent high wash-out rates. David Wright, Director ofBoeing Pilot Development Program, also spoke, saying, To meet this staggering demand for tens of thousands of airframes on the market over the next twenty years, were excited to announce today the development of the Pilot Development Program. Our program is being designed for a global footprint. We are looking to support all of our customers around the globe, said Wright. Boeing has been building airplanes for almost 100 years. Jeppesen has been in training since the 1940s. By combining these two brands, we offer a unique product and a unique service to our airline customers. The program will train students from street to left seat by taking a student withzero flight hours and putting them throughclassroom learning, flight instruction, a jet bridge program, and a type rating training program, to end with potential employmentat an airline. Wright said the program could cost between $100,000 to $150,000, andwould take about 12 months to complete. The averagestudent would come out of the program with between 200 and 250 hours, according to Wright, still not enough to become employable as an airline pilot in the United States. Wright andCarbaryfielded questions from the crowd during the media briefing, including how students would get from 250 hours to the magic 1500 hours that the FAA requires for an ATP certificate. Carbary saidthey expected that students in the U.S.would need to follow a similar career path as they do now, most likely working as a flight instructor. Ab in Europe and Asia In Europe and Asia, a similar ab initio programoften leads directly into the flight deck. America is slightly behind in this regard and will face challenges due to the FAAs 1500-hourATP rule. But, according to Wright, the pilot outlook is good, even for the U.S. market, and its expected that airlines will come on board with the program, potentially encouraging the FAA to reevaluate the rules once more. The other challenge is a financial one. The current problem with flight education is that at the cost of $100,000 or more, a school like this will leave a graduate with large loan payments and very low income. At li ttle more than $20,000 in income for an entry-level dezentral airline pilot job, its difficult to encourage anyone to take the leap toward becoming an airline pilot, let alone encourage them to spend upward of $100,000. If the program could be airline funded, or perhaps offer financial aid of some sort, then it could be valuable, said one attendee. According to Wright, the airlines are not opposed to such a program. Carbary said the while the industry isnt in a great spot right now for regional pilot pay. Eventually, supply and demand will normalize, and that will mean a pay increase across the board, thoughthe U.S. is lagging behind. The reality is that its supply and demand, and in the United States, we had a lot of furloughed pilots for a long time, Carbary said. They have now been pulled into the Middle Eastand Asian customers, so we dont have that to drill on anymore. Were already starting to see the pay increase. For now, Boeing says that the Pilot Development Program is a sel f-funded one, at least in the United States. In the meantime, Boeing continues to grow its training program, opening multiple training centers, adding simulators and hiring instructors to its19 training centers all over the world. The company is in the process of openinga new training center in Russia, has added simulators in atLondon Gatwick and in Singapore to meet training demands.

Bigger is better in UK consulting
Bigger is better in UK consultingBigger is better in UK consultingRecently, Britains Management Consulting Association (MCA), which counts about 70 percent of the UK consulting industry among its membership, released its short list for the organizations 2011 Awards spread. Potential winners compete in a slew of categories, from firm-wide strategy project accolades to individual Consultant of the Year designations in various practice areas. It could be said that the shortlist features a whos who of the UK consulting industryMCA would certainly say so. If that is indeed the case, the list reveals some striking differences among key players in the British and American industries. For one, theres a glaring lack of anything McKinsey (I cant say Im not relieved...) other American darlings of sterling international repute like Bain and Boston Consulting Group are equally absent.Instead, MCAs shortlist is dominated by international heavyweights, firms with high head-counts and even higher auf der ganzen welt brand recognition. Of these, the Big Four firms make the most appearances. MCAs Strategy Consultant of the Year nominees? Consultants from PwC, Deloitte, Accenture and KPMG leave room for but one other nominee that individual comes from Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), an international consultancy of nearly 100,000 employees. Not convinced? Check out the four-person shortlist for Change Management Consultant of the Year Deloitte and KPMG crack the quadrant again, and the other two spots go to consultants from 100,000+ giants IBM and Accenture. To be fair, the stray small UK consultancy does appear occasionally on these lists. A few other Vault mainstays like Hay Group and PA Consulting are also nominated once. But the trend is clear in Britain, the biggest consulting shops dominate the market. Big Four firms are particularly dominant other major world players like Accenture, CSC and IBM also share in the prestige. It isnt like McKinsey, BCG and the other usual suspects are inactive in Britain (MCAs entry guidelines dont require firms to be of British origin), so whats with the absence? Well continue to examine this intriguing trend here on Consult THIS.For more information The MCA Awards Shortlist

Five Questions with Dean Kamen
Five Questions with Dean Kamen Five Questions with Dean Kamen Five Questions with Dean KamenPhoto by Sean Smith, NASA, and courtesy of E4C- Engineering for Changeby Rob Goodier, Courtesy of Engineering for ChangeDean Kamen has achieved a double coup in global development engineering First, he invented a powerful water purifier that treats river water, saltwater and even mud or raw sewage. Second, he has found a powerful partner to manufacture and distribute it.Few towns in the world do not have a Coke for sale somewhere, and designers of solar lanterns, treadle pumps, clean-burning cookstoves and other products that can improve lives in developing communities dream of tapping into Coca Colas far-flung network. So, its fitting that Kamen, one of the titans of invention, should team up with the company.Kamen, popularly known as the inventor of the Segway, first gained notoriety in the medical field for his drug infusion pump AutoSyringe. He founded DEKA Research and Development Corpora tion to develop an eclectic variety of devices from prostheses to power generators. And he is now known to children and students worldwide as the founder of FIRST and the FIRST Robotics Competitions.Kamens purifier, the Slingshot, is a vapor compression distiller that produces 10 gallons of water per hour while running on only one kilowatt of electricity (please see the image below for details). We asked him five questions. ...I think it will be the people in emerging economies themselves who will be the ones to create the next generation of incredible technologies to help the developing world, - Dean KamenE4C What was the biggest technological hurdle to jump when you were developing the Slingshot?DK For any new technology, the biggest hurdle isnt the engineering itself, its getting people to accept and use a new idea. Physics and chemistry are predictable human behavior is not. We tried for a decade to find a partner with the vision and resources to help us bring Slingshot to those who need it most. It wasnt until we began working with Coca-Cola that we found the right organization in terms of their ability to deliver products to remote places in the developing world.E4C What impact could the Slingshot have? (First the realistic answer, then the wildly optimistic answer.)DK Last year, we brought several of our machines to Ghana for trials and placed them in schools. Within a few months, the teachers were reporting that their students were happier and healthier, so we already know what sort of impact our device can have on a small scale. Optimistically, if this machine is deployed throughout the world, it has the potential to bring clean drinking water to the two 1000 milliarden people on this planet who lack it.E4C What else are you working on that could improve lives in developed countries?DK In addition to the Slingshot, my engineers at DEKA have been working on improvements to the Stirling generator, an external-combustion engine that can produce electrici ty from virtually any liquid or gaseous fuel. These small generators could do amazing things in the developing world where people dont have access to electricity. But even in the developed world, where infrastructures are growing old and unreliable and point-of-use power generation is becoming more appealing, the Stirling generator could have a great impact as well.Dean Kamen poses with the latest generation of his water purifier. This version has shrunken in size. Its forebears were about as large as a refrigerator. Photo courtesy of Dean KamenE4C People dont often associate robotics with developing countries, but FIRST Robotics Competitions have seen teams from countries such as Brazil and Mexico. So, what are your plans for FIRST in emerging economies?DK My hope has always been that someday FIRST is available to every student on this planet with a desire to explore the possibilities of math and science. A country that possesses a smart and talented technological workforce has the best shot at creating a sustainable economy. FIRST has a proven record of encouraging kids to pursue careers in science, engineering, and technology. We will continue to grow FIRST not only in the United States, but also in emerging economies throughout the world. I have no doubt that in the years ahead FIRST will continue to grow in Latin America and Africa.E4C After FIRST and the Slingshot, what new plans do you have in mind for problem solving in emerging economies?DK If we are successful in our efforts to increase global access to water (and the accompanying health benefits), electricity (and the accompanying access to technology and communication), and FIRST (as a tool to both inspire students and give them the skills to succeed in technological fields), then I think it will be the people in emerging economies themselves who will be the ones to create the next generation of incredible technologies to help the developing world.E4CAnd a sixth question because we couldnt resist W hat advice do you have for inventors working on solutions to problems in developing countries?DK The unique situation with respect to innovation in and for the developing world is that the inventions need to be particularly sophisticated without being complex, because access to the infrastructure needed to acquire and maintain fragile, complicated systems will not be readily available. Simple, robust solutions that are simple to deploy and simple to maintain are particularly valuable in those environments.View larger version, or see the original at coca-colacompany.com (pdf)

Thoseemployeesrecognize the importance of balancing their work lives and their personal lives. They prefer to work for organizations that make work-life balance an attainable goalby supporting both the business and personal success of their employees. How to Identify Employees Who Value BalanceThere are a few characteristics that people who value balance tend to have in commonThose who value balance ignore email and work-related taskswhen they are off the clock. They generally have very clear personal goals in addition to their work goals.Theymay become agitated when their work projects consume their personal time.Theygenerally know how to leave their personal lives including personal stresses out of the office. The Pros of Having a Balance Employee on Your TeamIf life is a balancing act, ansicht employees know better than to ever tip the scales t oo far. Those who value balance have big personal and professional goals. They want to achieve all of these goals and also avoid exhaustion. In a tight-knit office, they might be the one who hesitates to connect with their colleagues on social media. It might be widelyknown that they have a family or a cherished past time, but they shield the details well. When it comes to those workplace perks like health initiatives or flex time, they willbe some of the first to take advantage. The Cons of aHaving a Balance Employee on Your TeamWhile an employee who values balance is not necessarily less dedicated to either part of their life, chances are that when one spills into the other, they will become frustrated or stressed. How to Curb Negative Online Reviews of your Company
How to Curb Negative Online Reviews of your CompanyHow to Curb Negative Online Reviews of your CompanyHow to Curb Negative Online Reviews of your Company RossheimWhats better than a beautifully crafted response to public criticism of your company? A negative review that never happens because employees are satisfied at work or they feel free to express their dissatisfactionand binnenseek redress offline.Although it takes time and effort, successfully managing online reviews will help maintain your companys star rating. A recent pollreveals just how significant those stars can be to todays job seekers.Based on a five-star rating system, a majority (38%) of U.S. respondents would only apply to companies with at least a 3-star rating. The poll also found that a third of respondents would never apply to a company with bad employee reviews.Clearly, the task of managing negative reviews should bea critical component of youremployer brand managementstrategy. Read on for insights on how you canhead offnegative reviews as well as someremedies to use when all else fails.Head off public criticism with open internal communications. Human resources can serve as a back channel for employee complaints. Negative reviews can bring up legitimate issues, says Joseph Sullivan, a partner at law firm Taylor English in Atlanta. Its important for the HR department to have an open communication policy for employees who feel theyre not being respected, so they dont leave company and have an axe to grind.Make it a practice to conduct exit interviewswith departing employees to help bring closure to existing issues.Create a trusted forum for in-person feedback. Assume that employees will feel that their expressions of legitimate concerns might be used against them and do the hard work of changing that perception by creating a more open organization. When you build a safe space that encourages employees to speak their minds and share their perspectives, you can address feelings of dissati sfaction in real time and prevent frustrated individuals from venting about your company on an open forum, says Andre Lavoie, CEO of ClearCompany, which offers talent management software. Make them feel comfortable with addressing their concerns in person.Give reviewers other ways to contact the relevant people at your company. Offer a path for reviewers to provide additional feedback an email address, website or phone numbers as a way for reviewers to talk more about why they wrote the review they did. You might be able to stop a negative review in its tracks.Search for root causes of complaints. Employees likely wont tell the whole story of their experience with your company which might be a good thing. Use their remarks as a springboard for a deeper examination of the situation.Look into negative comments for the underlying issue that makes employees feel this way, says Lavoie. If you see many complaints on a given theme such as bullying, or lapses in employee communication use them to press leadership for needed changes.Act on legitimate employee criticism. Company reviews can also be useful for identifying more granular issues. Create a pipeline to float information from the employee feedbackto the right part of your business. Think about how youre bringing feedback to the line of business or to HR to take action. And consider how company leadership will see these reviews.Consider asking the employee to remove their negative review. Sometimes its possible to tie even an anonymous post to a specific employee. If you feel such comments are unfair, consider asking the employee to remove them. We usually recommend going directly to the employee and trying to get them to take down the negative review, says Sullivan.Ask the review site to remove over-the-line comments. When a review contains inaccurate statements, you can try seeking a remedy through the review site. If you believe the review is completely false, you can reach out to the company-review sit e to ask to have it removed, says Rebecca McClure, an associate with Axia Public Relations.Sometimes you have to prove the review false, sometimes the review site researches it. But beware of starting a game of whack-a-mole the complaining employee can probably repost similar comments on the same site or others under a different pseudonym.Defamation may warrant legal action. Perhaps as a last resort, consider getting legal counsel involved. Once in a while an ex-employee posts a defamatory statement and we issue a send a cease-and-desist letter, says Sullivan.

5 Ways to Regulate Your Emotions at Work
5 Ways to Regulate Yur Emotions at Work5 Ways to Regulate Your Emotions at Work Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a set of capabilities, that allows you to perceive and identify the emotions of other people, while becoming mora self-aware, and in control of your own emotions. Stphane Ct, Professor of Organizational Behavior says, that like all skill sets, emotional intelligence likely has some portion that is innate, but also that it can be developed to some extent with deliberate practice and development in others. In a simple framework , emotional intelligence can be defined as the ability to recognize your own emotions, and the ability to use this awareness to manage your behaviors and relationships. While the research suggests that strong emotional intelligence can underpin much of our own success, many people still struggle, especially when it comes to regulating their own emotions. Ct attributes this to the fact that emotional intelligence, as a skill set, is ra rely formally taught in school, nor do people have the space to formally develop their emotional intelligence capabilities and receive corrective feedback in the workplace. There are many different things you can do to build a stronger sense of emotional self-regulation, especially at work1. Be mindful of the environments that trigger you. If you know a certain situation will cause you stress and an emotional reaction, try to avoid it if you can, and be selective whenever possible. Ct explains that your emotions will have a strong power over your thinking, so set yourself up for success by creating environments that support you.2. Optimize and calibrate your emotional state for the task at hand, so that your emotions are the appropriate ones. When people are more positive, they are also more creativity. So when you have to do creative work, if you can regulate and make your emotions more positive, youll be able to find more success. Ct explains that sometimes youll have to optimize y our emotional state downwards too. For example, if you need to follow guidelines, then you cant be too positive, because too much excitement and creativity could make you deviate. Sometimes, youll have to focus on emotional neutrality in the face of difficult challenges.3. Avoid bottling your emotions when possible. When people suppress their emotions, it can lead to long term burnout, which could negatively impact your career in the long run This does bedrngnis mean you should be spilling your guts out at the water cooler every day, rather, talk to someone you trust. Turn to trusted friends, coworkers, or even HR, and find ways not to keep it all inside, says Ct.4. Use re-appraisals to find a more positive meaning from events going on. A re-appraisal is a way to reframe an event in such a way that allows you to change your emotional response. For example, if you have to work with someone you consider to be difficult, rather than getting upset, try and see what you can gain from the situation. You might ask yourself questions like What difficult position might my boss be in? or How might I see the situation from their point of view? You could also benefit from telling yourself Its ok to feel anxious or overwhelmed that its a normal response. This can be hard to do, but consider how you can reframe problems as challenges that can be overcome. When you feel emotionally triggered, the reactive and emotional part of your brain can override the part of your brain that allows for deliberate thinking, and controlled decision making. To become self-aware of when this is happening, notice the physiological signs when you start seeing red. If youre feeling your heart rate speed up, youre feeling hot-headed, and you feel that sense of fight or flight, consider not responding to your colleagues email or request until youve cooled down and can respond in a way that you would not regret the next day Rather than give in to your knee-jerk reaction, slow down, and give yo ur calm brain a chance to catch up to your emotional brain. A few deep breaths and a walk around the block can go a long way.Emotional Intelligence is no longer a touchy-feely skill to be ignored. In fact, strong EQ can be just as important (if not more) than IQ in some jobs, and can be an important part of what moves certain people up the ladder, when their IQ and technical skills are roughly in line with their peersIf youre hoping to build a successful and sustainable career, dont overlook the power of your own emotions.
